Have you guys seen the pamp suisse 1 oz silver bars on ebay??? They sell for about 60+, some go for over 70!! whats up with that? Is it just the collectors value that makes them go for that much, surely people aren't buying them for bullion investing. For something like that (also silver eagle proofs), lets say they are selling for 70 when silver is at 35, when silver is at 45 will they sell for 80?

Yeah, 60+ does seem a bit extreme for only a 1 oz silver bar. Just look at silver all together on ebay... People are buying in the low to mid $40 range.

Maybe the Pamp suisse silver bar has special-mystical powers...

I believe Pamp suisse is an older manufacturing company and is in high demand but that's just a guess. Maybe someone else has more information for ya.

Any dealer would gladly pay you $35.00 for one of those, and laugh all the way to his safe ....

Looks like they average about $20 over bullion price...

I would not hesitate to buy at that price . These bars will always carry a large premium .

I don't see why these are a better buy than bullion coins. They may be harder to resell.

why should they be hard to sell? they're recognized and they are relatively pure silver.

And they come with a history and a name.

For the same reason ppl buy Levi's instead of other name brand jeans. It's a known name and ppl buy on name recognition. I buy sometimes by name brand but most of the time I don't. If I bought Pamp Suisse it would be gold, jmo.
