I can't believe the prices I'm seeing on eBay these days. I might have to let some of my more beat up rolls go!

yea junk silver quarter rolls are going for $10-$30 more then silver valued at $34/oz... seems insane...and annoys me cause I want to pick more up but it's getting to the point of being $40/oz and I don't think I want to dip into that

Agreed... The bidding and asking for silver on e-bay ATM, is starting to get out of control. People are bidding $40-45 for a simple oz of silver. And that does not include shipping!
If some here are on the fence weather to sell some silver on ebay to get some profit from buying silver below $20. It's hard not to jump in now.

Agreed. I have been on the fence selling just some 40% crud, but may have to make a visit to the safe deposit box soon if Ebayers are paying that kind of money. Hopefully they would open their wallets a little more for my "junk" like vf/xf walkers, mercuries, and dated SL quarters.

If you word it right :) like TV or coinworld ads! "All Mercury dimes are silver but only some roosevelt dimes, all walker halves are silver, but only 1 Kennedy, don't be confused or taken, buy the easily identified silver coins! :)"

"Junk" coins are flying out as well! I'm sure some out there who don't know what is, and is not silver. Will be in for a surprise. Although, I really don't see much bidding on coins w/o any silver content.

The current $33.90 silver spot bid translates to a 24.53 times face factor for junk silver dimes through halves. Adding to that a 9% eBay transaction fee, plus 2.9% for the PayPal credit card fee, you’d need to sell 90% silver at 27.513 times face (plus shipping) to yield today's net spot on a eBay sale.

If you’re selling, you are probably better off going through a local dealer. Hellenbeck, here in Colorado Springs is paying around 22.5 to 23.5 times face right now.

Kinda makes me sad in the pants to be selling hand picked better coins for melt price, but it is what it is I suppose. When and if I sell I just hope I am right and will be able to replace them again in the future.

Maybe I should take a harder look at my sterling silver flatware first.....

Over the years, I have bought a large number of albums with well worn silver coins that if I just leave them, my heirs will have to take time to sell for an OK value, as I am sure not going to slab them. I forget how many mercury albums I have with just 2 to 5 coins missing in G -BU ( late years). tried selling a long time ago, but no interest. Now, might as well think about that. Couple of rolls of ASE I like because they are toning ( Naturally) nicely, but will wait and see how silver does. Unlike many others on the forum, I do not have any idea or insight where silver will be next week , let alone next 9 months.

You ever get the feeling you're just going over the top in a roller coaster and there's nothing you can do but throw your hands up and scream!!

Kinda like the old conundrum " If on an island there are only 50 ugly women, who will be the fairest of them all?" Same with countries financial conditions. They all may be ugly, but one will be the fairest of them all :)

You know, not to get off topic, obviously at the end of the day, beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder because what's inside you is beautiful, not the outside.

But if you take a really really ugly broad and pin her next to say Cindy Crawford, I mean, the ratio of how many men would choose Cindy would be enormous! LOL....
There has to be some kind of mathematical science to it all......

Now before anyone flames me, I've never ever been attracted to Cindy Crawford. Is she pretty? Absolutely, but she just seems plain jane to me and I've never drooled over her like my other buddies.....

It is what we make of it. PMs have been around a long time, and I don't suspect the discussion will evaporate anytime soon.

The last quote I got from a local dealer was only 70% of spot. So, I will take my lumps and my added profit and sell mine on eBay ! At least that's what my local dealer is doing it seems ? Why give the added profit to the "middle man" ? IMHO

Today silver is having a hard time pushing past the 34.50 resistance, but the swing seems to be narrowing, and possibly can do so. The bottom support level is about 34.50. I am very cautious at this level as $35 seems more of a psychological barrier than $34 or even $36. Gold is doing well, with GLD and GG very strong.

Also this is an interesting article.

Someone that I read daily has written the following (this is just a part of a sentence) and I am taking it to heart:

"..I warn y'all, however, to view this soberly. Everybody loves a Fun Run, but nobody likes the clean-up, & when this rally ends there will be one huge mess to clean up. Silver will take a big hit, and so will gold, & the market will be slow & disappointing for months afterward."

Interesting to me is that I only read 3 writers regularly -- today I found out that 2 of them know each other, and have for 30 years. No wonder they 'seem to be' on the same page with one another! The third, though normally taking a way different view and approach, well, they are saying the same things.

Very confusing right now -- all the knowledgeable people posting on this thread and others like it, well, their opinions don't all agree with one another. So I'm always wondering who to believe? I remind myself regularly that I am the only one responsible for my decisions/actions re: pm's.

So far today, silver hit 34.975 and then dropped back to about 34.20, crossing my lower support line, so I sold , reducing my silver PM to about 50%. Increased gold holdings slightly as I like that chart pattern better. I plan to stay out of buying more silver until it is above 35.25 for a couple of sessions. All in my opinion. Best of luck
