Here's a link to the newest coin in the Canadian wildlife series of bullion grade 1oz silver coins. This is the second in a series that will include 6 coins. http://www.silvercoinstoday.com/2011-grizzly-silver-coin-second-in-canadian-wildlife-series/103745/
Makes it pretty obvious how dated our bullion coin designs are. ASEs are a great and beautiful design, but I vote change, at least one side of it.
They are not available yet but should be soon. I will post on the board here when I see them for sale. Kitco and JandM.com are a couple places I have purchased from that will carry them. They'll be widely available but oddly, can't get bullion grade coins from the Canadian Mint, just through their dealers. Personally, I think it's worthwhile collecting the series. I don't imagine they have a huge potential for appreciation as they are just nice looking bullion coins with a mintage of 1 million. But they are certainly a nice way to hold bullion and the wolf coins are already fetching a premium on EBAY so you can imagine what the sets will do once they're finished. On ebay, completed auctions show prices for the wolves from $35 to over $40, while you can purchase the coin from dealers for about the same as Maples or Eagles. Anyways, if you hunt around you might still find some wolves at dealers. Try that JandM.com Here's a link to the announcement of the silver wolf coins so you can get a look at that one if you haven't seen it. http://www.coinnews.net/2010/09/10/2011-canadian-silver-wolf-bullion-coin/
Awesome looking coin! I actually like it better than the Wolf and would buy this one over a blah ASE any day! Keep us posted as to when anyone has them available for sale. I'm sure they will sell out quickly just like the Wolf. Does anyone know what the "WW" on the left hand side of the coin represents?
Great coin as is the Wolf. I have a set of leafs anyway and these are great for the grandkids . . . and me. ;-) BTW, this last time they didn't come in tubes but in strips. rono
