Before they went to EBT's I love US paper currency and Food Stamps are something I find are impossible to find!!! PLEASE HELP ME FIND SOME
An older thread on Food Stamps with some information that should be useful to you: Food Stamps anyone?
There was a guy that ran a pawn shop near me that sold food cards at 50% of face but he closed down for some reason
Understood Krispy I don't know who to talk to about it though which is why I asked. Any food stamp collectors out there PM ME
Thank you now the long wait will begin however if anyone can help me find some elsewhere (not an offer to buy/pay you anything) please PM me a hyperlink
like that other thread mentioned, they turn up on eBay, go there and set up a search agent that will email you results as items are listed
This thread reminds me of sporting events I go to that have people near the venue holding signs that say "Tickets For Sale", and ten feet away are people holding signs " I Need Tickets "
These old food stamps were illegal to possess if they were not issued to you, but since they are now obsolete and no longer used they are quite legal to own. I remember one time someone offered me like $10 worth for $5, no doubt so he could by cigarettes. Frankly I wouldn't wanna be caught dead spending those things - but I wouldn't mind having some for my collection sometime. Needless to say, I was not a buyer - even at a 50% discount.
That is the great irony of food stamps today. Back in the day, they were sold at a discount by people on the program to get cash to spend on anything they wanted to. Now they go for 3-5x face to collectors.
Wow, I didn't know that they went for that much. I always assumed they went the way of Green Stamps. No one wanted them anymore after the program was discontinued.
I have a 50 cent coupon and always wanted to see what other denominations looked like. Don.F would you be willing to post some scans here, so members could have a look?
I'm interested in buying a $1 and/or $5 food stamp(s). Does anyone collect them here on CT; or anyone tell me where to find them?
