    The APM*X email alert said:

But they didn't say by how much... and went on to try to get you to buy more Eagles and other Canadian silver bullion at "lower" prices...

The sales pitch begins after this point...

What do you expect to happen. they are going to be asking even more as the price continues to rise. the fact that silver is over 20 dollars is pretty amazing. the problem here is there is no ceiling to speak of. gold and silver are higher than ever before and i see them continueing to go up. the question is how high can they go with any reasonable rate.

until people stop paying for the prices they set, and the demand falls off and the price rebalances. the fact is that they can ask this because some people are still willing to pay the asking prices.

Darn. I thought the premium was alot before. Just wait to see what we'll pay if the .gov makes us pay tax on them. Guess I'll be going with Maples or Phils if its a big hike or just go back to buying junk.

  10. I have always waited for silver spot to dip before buying. I realize that we are in uncharted territory here but common sense tells me that silver will drop or level off at some point due to market forces. TC

industrial demand is a powerful market force keeping it up too.

I believe the old premium from Mint to dealer was $1.50 over spot. New premium is $2.00 over spot.

    apmex one ounce buying prices:

    ASE - $1.55 over spot.

    AGE - $28.00 over spot.

    AGB - $30.00 over spot.

And what about the pricing for buying in quantity?

Apmex has recently revised their price structure in this regard to sell more units of this inventory. There are now more price points per product than before, for 1 oz. bullion ASEs:

    1-19 pieces
    20-99 pieces
    100-499 pieces
    500 or more pieces...

The price over spot decreases the more units you buy. There will immerge a 'best' price for the least cost over spot with this bullion dealer.

Also compare to Provident Metals, they tend to compare closely or beat Apmex but deliver equal or better customer service.

    which one you buy now?:

2010 American eagle one ounce $1 silver dollar. apmex bid $1.55 over spot ask $3.09 over spot. gap between bid and ask is $1.54 per ounce.

2011 canadian maple leaf one ounce silver $5 dollar. apmex bid $1.00 over spot ask $2.89 over spot. gap between bid and ask is $1.89 per ounce.

i would rather buy american eagle.

This was the point of the Apm*x sales pitch in the e-newsletter that started this thread. The end of the email blast that they sent out, was encouraging customers to buy Canadian bullion in the form of the Canadian Timber Wolf bullion coins at 1.99 over spot for a couple days, after which time it seems to suggest the price would increase on those too.

I didn't copy that part of the newsletter in my first post to this thread because it has links to buy, and could be determined to be posting an offer to sell or redirect to sales sites for the purpose of selling.
