Apparently, you didn't read it too carefully. You are wrong!

Re-read the entire paragraph beginning with, "What this statute means....". Additionally, the only way a debt can be discharged, is when the party to a contract tries to change the terms after the contract has been accepted by both parties.

I would do nothing. How do you really know the guy whos name is on it is the one trying to remove mint marks anyhow or even if thats what it is?
