Just saw this listed on ebay, man the portrait looks like a baby playing dressup. Not sure if its a double strike or not. I dont plan to bid but interesting coin, unless its been tooled. http://www.ebay.com/itm/INTERESTING...04?pt=UK_Coins_Ancient_RL&hash=item23394f39c4
Agree. The portrait really makes the kid look evil but any points gained on the obverse are lost on the reverse where the double strike lopped off the head of the wolf. I'd pay the $1.66 but not $15 postage. It is a novelty that only someone buying another coin from the seller might want. If I lived in the same country, I'd bid on a few of the seller's other coins.
I like the coin => Den of Antiquity is awesome (I've bought lots from them/him) Curious? => ummm Mat (or anyone who posted before me) ... were you dudes gonna bid, or not?
Ive bought from that dealer a few times, no issues. Nope, not bidding on it. On the wagon that Martin missed. Still have some new stuff to share though.
Most of his coins have been acid dipped, which makes them somewhat less desirable than sympathetically cleaned ones. This coin is no exception.
Sadly, thats what tracked/signed for costs to the US. To send untracked is dangerous on fleabay, unless you have a repertoire with the dealer, as I have with several of my US dealer customers.
It was kinda cool ... but I bid $50-ish and then I'd have to tack-on that nasty shipping, so in the end I'm kinda glad that I didn't win (again, it was kinda cool => but because I am who I am, I was merely lookin' forward to using it as my avatar every now and then) ... man, I need to get a hobbie, eh?
