Have not posted here in a while.

Hit a nice run yesterday with halfs.

Did 6 boxes, 2 from Dunbar which were dud's and 4 from Garda.
1 from Garda was Zero, but the other 3 had a total of 30.

    25 @ 90%- 8 Franklins and 17 Walking Liberty
    5 @ 40%.

Been on a trip for a few weeks. Managed to get out a couple of days to drive around and ask tellers for halves. Of about $350, I've found 3 40%. Apparently, this area is pretty picked over. In fact, I was right behind another coin hunter last time I was out. The last bank I went to, the teller was giving me advice on what times to come back when they were likely to have the most halves. That's something that never happened to me before.

What is Dunbar and Garda? Those seem like incredible numbers. Looks like someone deposited Grandpa's coin stash

Dunbar and Garda are names of the Armored Truck Carriers that deliver coins etc to the respective banks.

And those coins didn't necessarily originate in the respective banks but rather originated irrespective of the respective banks.

Correct!- originated from their respective U.S Mints- irrespective of their respective carrier (LOL!);)

    $1000 twos - 1x 1928, 12x 1953/a/b, 3x 1963, 1x 1976(I) with the third printing slightly off center

i walked in to a bank that i dont get to very often and asked the teller if there were any twos. she said yes. i asked how many, and she asked how many i needed. i said "ill take 'em all" she said they had $6,450 worth and asked if i was sure. i said that i would take $1000 and asked if someone deposited all those. she said they had so many because theyve started using them like they would any other bill, for example if you withdraw $24 you get a twenty and 2 twos instead of a twenty and 4 ones. that made my day :)

If any of those older ones have a corner torn off that was for good luck at the track. I hope they picked a winner with it. :)

the 1928 did have a torn corner (every 1928 i've ever found has had a torn corner except for one)
