went through a box of nickels. was decent pull.. 1944P, 1930D 1935D and 1937D. all readable so that was nice. plus about a roll and a half pre 60. I need to start trying to sell the pre 60 they are starting to pile up. Found a 1970S grease error penny about 2 days ago. took it to the lcs to check and thats what he told me. so thats decent too i guess. 1 more box of nickels and 3 boxes of pennies to sort today. then to the dump bank i go. good luck everyone on your silver hunts today.

Box of halves: One 40%
$30 CWR halves: Two rolls were solid 1991 D, other than that nothing
$32.50 loose halves: Two 64's, one 40%
$98 Ikes: Nothing
Box of nickels: One 1929 S Buffalo (when I was looking up the value I accidentally clicked on 1926 S and got my hopes up)
$48 BWR and $54 CWR nickels: Nothing

 

went through the other box of nickels. skunk on anything i want. few pre60s. started on the pennies. first box had 26 wheats. 40,44,57,2?,48,46,51,57,44,44,18,51,52,46,52,51,46,56,56,44,42,18,55,44,52,56. Second box had 9 . 44,55,46,41,19,56,58,49,42. still have one more box to go through.

 

Last box of pennies, 58,42,51,51,56,42,42,45,42,53. In all I pulled 47 today. Back to banks tomorrow for some mre nickels/pennies. Then wait til friday fr my halfs. Goodnight everyone.

I got it from a coworker. Thinking of paying him a bit more money since I feel guilty by how much profit I gained. Either way, I was/am excited about it.

Also got a great deal on 32 War Nickels.



Also, I talked to my bank who accidentally ordered 6 boxes of dollar coins instead of half dollar coins. The teller said, "Sorry about the mixup. When the Susan B Anthonys showed up, I realized that I ordered the wrong kind of coins." I then said, "The what???" She said, "The SBA coins. I had the delivery man take them back. You're halves should be here next week on Tuesday."

Can this be right? Can tellers order boxes of SBA coins??? I'm thinking she had to be mistaken.

 

Yeah you can still get sba and ikes , still working on my time machine to go back and get peace and morgans but hey.

 

Recently searched 5 boxes of halves (2500 FV), per box here are the results:

Box 1: Nothing
Box 2: 14 2002 - Present
Box 3: 8 2002- Present
Box 4: 7 2002 - Present
Box 5: 6 2002 - Present and one very odd 1973 coin that appears to be silver plated(?). Its has all the characteristics of a true silver coin but its not an S run so I think its been treated or plated in some way. Very strange....

I also found a few coins where someone had drilled a hole in JFK's head, which is pretty morbid.

So in grand total not a single piece of silver but I did assemble a complete 2002 - 2011 P/D run of visually uncirculated kennedy halves. So not spectacular but not a complete strike out.

 

Worst box of pennies ever today (for me anyway). No errors, proofs, wheats or Indian heads, in fact there were only 3 pre 82 coins in the whole box!

 

you must've gotten a batch of the coins I've been dumping

 

i have not bought many rolls of coins but in 2011 i bought an unsearched roll of lincoln wheat cents and i found 3 indian cents and a 1929 p cent in bu red grade. the rest of the coins from that roll were mostly 1940's and 1950's wheat cents in average circulated grade.

 

are you buying bags out of the coin counter machine at your bank and how did you ask ?

 

Yes, there is a self-serve coin counter machine at a local bank in town. I asked the vault teller one day if I could purchase a bag of coins. She said, "Sure...not a problem." The best thing is that I don't even have an account with them...maybe I will start one.
