Hi all, Recently robec was kind enough to let me piggyback his submission (for the second time!) to PCGS. One of the coins submitted was a 1932 H10 that was cracked out from an ICG slab (EDIT to add: It was formerly in an AU55 ICG slab). Anyone care to guess the grade that PCGS assigned it? Pictures below. Have fun! Answer will be posted in a week or so. -CB
They could either be on-point or one grade lower IMO. You'd really have to see the coin to tell though. It's a really nice looking half dime though.
I think ICG got it right in the first place... Why would you re-submit it? Only if you were hoping for an upgrade, right? So I would say it's in an AU58 holder now.
Why wouldn't you a coin in a pcgs holder is a heck of a lot easier to sell then a coin in an icg holder people trust them more
Wow it seems from the poll that people think that ICG is a tough grader. I never would've thought....
Me I graded the coin not the slab I said 58 was a tough call between 55 and 58 I went high due to the relative leiniency of the tpgs lately
As a guy who has never had a coin graded & doesn't own a graded coin, how could this coin grade anything above an AU with the evident wear on the curls & eagle. Please do not take offense as I would LOVE to have this coin. I think it's magnificent! I just know that you guys know tons more than I do about the TPGs. This could be a very valuable learning experience for me.
