error coin?

    if i may pry a bit as to what is the difference between damage and error and what makes it so obvious?? just wondering.

    as i have seen some really damaged coins that are errors?

    the coin is perfectly flat btw like a normal quarter, but idk if that makes any difference

    Part of it comes from understanding the minting process. There is no event during the minting process that could really result in the appearance of your coin (aside from planchet clips, but even then yours looks very different). The metal on the coin looks like it has been displaced...something hit it and spread the metal after it had been struck.

    Like non_cents said, I don't know of any way this could have been produced during the minting process. It looks like PMD to me.
