I wanted to know if this is a complete proof set of 1981 Type 2 S coins? Pictures are in this order: Cent, Dime, Dollar, Half Dollar, Nickel, Quarter. Thank you for the help!:) EDIT: I think the Dollar, Nickel, and Dime are Type 2... Just not sure about the rest.

I think I disagree that the first one is T2...as well as #2 (think its just glare in the photos)...but that's just my humble opinion.

This drives me crazy; I have 10 1981 proof sets and can't seem to figure out if they are type 1 or type 2!!

For the 1981 SBA it looks as if the Type 2 has rounded ends and the Type one flat.

I've seen all these diagrams and pictures, but I can't seem to distinguish them from each other when I have the proof set in my hand.

I use a loupe. Less than $10 on EBay. Great for looking at coins and jewelry.

Here is one that I use:
40x Magnification 25mm Mini Glass Jeweler Jeweler's Magnifier Magnifying Eye Jewelry Loupe Loop Led Light Black
    Sold by: Z ZTDM
    $5.58
Coin details are easy to see with this.
The light is helpful. I did have to replace the batteries once, for the light,
and now there's no Radio Shack, so I bought 2 extra sets of batteries (Amazon) for the future, but since I have replaced them the first time I haven't needed to replace them again. The new batteries were better than the ones that came with the loupe.
