    This is a piece I got to handle today.

    It's a shame about it being in a bezel at one point but it's still a heck of an attractive coin. Hopefully i'll get to add it to my inventory. I made an offer and the owner is thinking on it. In the meantime I got permission to post pics.

    Is there a way to tell the coin was held in jewelry by just looking at it?

    It doesn't look badly damaged. Is there repair work at 12k obverse, 6k reverse? Or maybe the setting damage is limited to the edges?

    What's going on at Liberty's eye? Almost looks like a die chip.

    Obviously you would be getting a substantial discount for the jewelry-mount damage, correct?
