    Greetings Everyone,

I just found this forum via a Google search... I come across a coin several years ago and I misplaced it only to find it again. It's now in a coin sleeve stored in a safe place where I will not loose it again. I found the coin in a stack of international coins and just stashed it back not thinking twice. After a little bit of research I found out that the coin is a US Victory Nickel dated 1898. Yes, that's eighteen hundred ninety eight... The coin appears to be in near mint condition, but I've not been able to find any more information on this coin...
Unfortunately I don't have pictures of it right now, but I can get pics if really needed.

Would anyone here happen to know what the background on this coin is? Or even know what it may be worth?

By Victory nickel, you mean it has a big V on one side of it?

Howdy Dazz - Welcome to the Forum !!

They are called Liberty nickels - not unusual of course, but I imagine they seem pretty exotic to someone who does not collect coins. You can find out a bit about the coins here - Click Here

Post some pics of your coin - then we can help you determine its value ;)
