I set out to put together a 12 Caesars set last year. I started in August and just added this Titus I had been stalking for a while. So far my collection is exclusively in bronze, although I realize I may have to go with silver denarii for some of the more rare emperors. I was happy to add this one and am now two thirds of the way there. I still need the three emperors from the year of three; Otho, Galba, Vitellius. And of course I need Julius Caesar. I'm getting to the point where these coins are starting to cost a bit more. But it's been fun so far. Please post your 12 Caesar coins Titus or otherwise. Also feel free to share any experience and knowledge on building your set. Thanks! Here she is: Titus; AD 79-81 Bronze As, 26mm/13.1g (Rome Mint) Obverse: laureate head right, Reverse: Pax standing left, near a lighted altar, holding with the right hand a patera and with the left one a caduceus and an olive branch, Cohen 129
Nice addition to your set. I have a complete 12 Caesars in silver, but only half of the 12 in bronze. Namely Augustus, Tiberius, Claudius, Nero, Galba and Domitian. One of my all time favorites is my Claudius: CLAUDIUS AE As OBVERSE: TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG P M TRP IMP P P - Bare head left REVERSE: CONSTANTIAE AVGVSTI - Constantia standing left, raising hand and holding spear; S C across fields Struck at Spain, 42/3AD 12.7g, 25mm RIC111, BMC201, S1858 And another is this Domitian: DOMITIAN AE As OBVERSE: IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM COS XI CENS POT P P, laureate head right, aegis at tip of bust REVERSE: MONETA AVGVSTI, S-C, Moneta standing left, holding scales & cornucopiae Struck at Rome, 85AD 11.7g, 27mm RIC 384
Those are both beautiful examples Bing. I love the portrait on your Domitian, and the details of the neck of Claudius are something else! As is the figure of Costantia on the reverse. It looks like a bas relief sculpture. Both very nice coins. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks guys. This one is on its way from a seller in France. Now comes the part I don't like about collecting ancients...the month and a half wait for the coin to arrive from overseas.

Awesome, awesome As. This is exactly the quality of coin that I hope to have when I chase down a Titus!
Sweet new Titus, Bannon ... great coin!! => man, that baby has great eye-appeal (oh, and pretty sweet photo as well) congrats, brother
Rather than re-posting my Titus denarius and aureus, which have been shown here multiple times, I waited until I received the latest addition to my 12 Caesars collection: TITUS AE Dupondius (14.71 g.) Rome 74 A.D. T CAESAR IMP PONT Laureate head right. Rev. TR POT COS III CENSOR Winged caduceus between two cornucopiae in saltire In hand, the patina is slightly darker and appears more evenly brown.
