So tonight, for the first time, I decided to try my hand at cherrypicking ebay, and find some varietys I need for cheap. I actually feel like I may have found some good ones, with relatively low bids, and close to end auctions. Anyone interested in playing the game? See how how much of a score you can make on a coin, heck, even if you just want to flip it after, let's post pictures and auction links here. I'll post mine tomorrow, that's when the auctions end.

Join in BiggieJ! Grab 15 dollars and try to snipe a coin, I looked for about an hour and a half through dozens and dozens of auctions. I think it might pay off. I think Toad might have had it figured out with all the ebay surfing he did,
If you make a good score I strongly recommend not making it public until you have your coin in hand. If it's a big enough rip, there's a good shot that some folks may contact the eBay seller and offer more $$ for the coin before they ship it to you. That seems to be the case over on the CU forum where a member apparently won a rare error coin for around $300 that is really worth maybe $10k-$20k and posted about it before the seller shipped. Seems several people contact the seller offering much more and now the buyer isn't getting his coin.
Thanks for the heads up! Nasty people.. nasty nasty people, Yeah, maybe I'll wait until the coins arrive. Although, I don't think very many people here collect Canadian Large cents, or Canadian silver Nickels.

I'm not an ebay or internet coin purchaser. I'd rather take my time at a coin show and study a coin close up. However, there are many that do come out real good on ebay. I've heard stories of some really great deals and then too, some real bad ones. Hopefully you do OK. I'll just sit back and watch.
If I going Cherrypicking I start about a week ahead if its a graded coin.but for raw coins I stay away from non USA sellers. here one raw 1966 10 Shilling I cherrypicked about 2 weeks ago
You're probably right, but to be honest, the cherrypicking game doesn't interest me much any longer. To put it bluntly, I like coins, not making money off others' ignorance.

I purchased this coin raw on eBay for $349, from photos that looked something like this: It now sits in a PCGS MS 65 slab, and according to PCGS should sell for $2,700. Have fun...Mike p.s. Cool Frank...my best cherry pick was the 1882 snow 6 off of heritage $105 and sold for $1500 by Rick Snow and I collected $1350. My best score to date. And I read the mbt thread, cool score and interesting thread all around.
I would agree, But When I cherry pick, I guess I don't imagine myself making money off someones ignorance, but saving money off of it. I don't plan on selling coins I cherrypick. They are usually varieties I need for a set or something. Also.. On a side note.. i won the auction,
I prefer to think that I am making money by having a better knowledge. There is nothing wrong with cherrypicking.
It about the same size as a Morgan Dollar $12.00 its 1.2oz .833 silver.but why I pick it has engraved rim and bowl shaped with obv & rev sunken in like a reveres high relief
