BTW, are those mintage fugures that you posted the final mintages for all fo the Buffalo coins? It appears that the 1/4 oz unc is the lowest mintage of all of them.

buffaloes mintages are final. if we talking about proof, then 1/2 ounce is the lowest (12,573 pcs). if we talking about the uncirculated only and/ or total proof and unc combined for buffaloes. then, the one ounce uncirculated is the lowest. only 9,706 pcs.

The One ounce Unc is going to be the winner of the buffalos. I still have a hard time thinking that more people own/collect one oz gold coins. And this one is kinda like the AGE (10k) and ASE(250k) 2006 Reverse proof. It's a one year type coin. and lt 10,000 All others the frationcal buffalos are type coins. hope I'm wrong.

The PCGS FIRST STRIKE labels have very low population #'s.
Lowest MS is 419 for the 1 oz
Lowest PF is 517 for the 1/2 oz
This means you can only have 419 max 4-pc sets in MS FIRST STRIKE !!!
This means you can only have 517 max 4-pc sets in PF FIRST STRIKE !!!
These will bring big $$$ later on........ |

as for low mintages. i would say that the one ounce uncirculated buffalo and the half ounce proof is the lowest. but so far the 1/10 and the 1/4 proof buffaloes is traded at a very high premium. so, it is really based on supply and demand. and the willingness of big investors to push that coin up.

Why, because they are 'first strike' or because the mintage across the board is low?
I hope that people aren't purchasing because of the first strike/early release ploy.

1. Low mintages across the board
2. Very low FIRST STRIKE populations
3. New FS labels
4. Only year of issue
These reasons are why these coins are selling for "MOON MONEY".
Just watch a few and see what they sell for.........................
There was a seller that turned down a $800 "best offer" for a $10 PCGS MS70 the other day. I, along with everybody else knows what FIRST STRIKE really means, BUT they continue to bring in BIG $$$$ !!!!!!!!
Just stating the FACTS.......not my opinion.

Chief, You are 100% correct on the FS labels I know it's just a $10 label, but people do seem to really love it. Personally, I really do like the new one with the buffalo, but I'm not going to pay the price just to have a label |
