After getting my prehistoric cats of Chauvet Cave, I decided to continue the theme with this UNESCO Portuguese Silver 2.5 Euro coin with lovely rock art design from Vale Do Coa. This is a pretty cool design.

Why does it have a comma instead of decimal
    point?

That is a fairly common European notation

Indeed. Decimal commas, and dots for high figures (1.000.000 = one million), are the way to go. :p In Portugal they used to have, in the pre-euro years, another interesting separator: The escudo symbol was $, and they would sometimes write "2$50" (ie. two escudos fifty centavos) on a 2.50 coin.

You will probably know that this coin is a piece from the Portuguese "Unesco World Heritage" series; but I think it is the only one featuring prehistoric drawings. If you are into such themes and designs, you may also be interested in the Polish Krzemionki coins, to be issued next week. Links only to prevent thread drift. :)

How do you keep track of it all? That link does not have any sales.

I truly feel very conflicted about buying Polish coins.

See my reply over there. Poland and Portugal may be close alphabetical neighbors, but the Côa Valley and Krzemionki are not. :p

It seems Georgia needs a coin.
