How do you know? I just went there and read this on the product page:

"Waiting List Notice: The number of orders we have taken meets the maximum limit for the 2011 American Eagle 25th Anniversary Silver Coin Set. You may still place an order for this product, which will go on a waiting list. If a product becomes available due to an order cancellation, we will fulfill orders from the waiting list on a first-in, first-served basis. We cannot provide information about your position on the waiting list.

When we place your order on the waiting list, we will send you an order receipt. This is not a guarantee that you will receive your order. If we are not able to fulfill your order, you will receive a cancellation or sold-out notification. If you paid by check, you will receive a refund."

My orders have a projected ship date...believe wait list orders show as "held"....or am I mistaken on this?

I wouldn't go holding my breath if I were you. All orders are shown as "held" until the credit cards are processed. If you didn't order til this morning then you are certainly of the wait list....

Well...never do a "presale" on a confirmed order like many...had fun watching the fall out during the ATB stuff though. Hope I get one.

I put the order for two sets in at 7:15p ET. It was 'Held', projected shipping 11/11/11.
Today it says shipping 11/12/11, still held.

That was 30 million dollars in sales in about 4 hours for the US Mint. What do you think the after-market sales will total?

Got my order done by 12:15 EST and originally it said Backordered expected ship date 11/10/11, today went on my Tracking and they moved it to 11/11/11.

For those that think it will ship on 11/11 I highly doubt that the postal service or mint workers will be shipping anything on a national holiday...perhaps the day after.

These will be shipped next day delivery via UPS with Signature required.

My guess is that they will ship next Thurs. with Friday delivery.

If you waited that long, you will be VERY lucky to get one. The mint has said all were sold by 5:30 yesterday (EST). If yours states "held", it's basically the same as "wait list". Everybody that placed an order until the sold out went up this morning, gets a ship date and has their credit card checked. The only way you can get one, that being the case, is if those that have "backordered" from the mint, cancel out. Or, pay the extremely high prices going to a third party. I don't want to sound negative and wish you good luck.

This would be 10 days earlier than any date the Mint says they will be shipped.

this happened with the Lincoln Chronicles set. They had a ship date a couple weeks out, then once they verified all orders they shipped early

My order is time stamped 12:34 PM (Eastern time) and my order status reads 'held' (on the 'my account' screen) and 'Your order request is on hold' (on the track order' screen) with 5 units backordered expected to ship on 11/11/2011. My order# is: 38329XXX Did these sets really sell out in about half an hour? I was hoping I made it before the cutoff. But it looks like I didn't:( I didn't realize that 'held' meant the same thing as being on the waiting list:(

"held" does not mean you're on the wait list...my order is 38324XXX time stamped 12:02 and says the same thing. They have to process each order...that will take some time.

May be my mistake. I had read that at a previous site. However, I noticed that your order number is actually lower than mine so dug deeper. This is from "Mint News" and seems to be very good for you:
    "
The Mint is both manufacturer and seller, so when they say “backorder,” they mean that the order is backed up until the coins are minted, assembled, and then shipped to the fulfillment center for mailing.
The Mint uses “hold” to mean that they need time to verify that the order is legitimate (in this case, not more than 5 sets per household) and that the customer’s credit card has sufficient funds. “In process” means that verification has been done, and now all it takes is for the Mint to see if there are enough sets ready for mailing.
“In stock and reserved” means that the coins have been assembled into sets and ready to be shipped to the fulfillment center

This looks like good news for you!

I don't understand why they can't tell people if they are on a wait list. My order says "Held" and I have an expected ship date, but I don't think I'm getting the sets.

Thanks for doing the follow-up research and clarifying. Since 12:00 noon yesterday until now my emotions have oscillated between ecstasy/elation and utter depression. Perosnally, I have come to the conclusion that until I have those sets in hand, I will not truly know whether I will receive them. I've called my bank to have a representative note my account to the effect that a sale in the amount of $1504.70 will be charged to my check card by the United States Mint sometime between now and 12/1/11 (I gave this date range to be conservative- I didn't realize that the mint often ships earlier than they tell you) so that the bank's security department doesn't deny/flag the transaction due to suspicion of fraud (I have never bought anything nearly so expensive on a single purchase. In short, I feel I have done all that I can to maximize the chance that I will see these beautiful sets in my hands one day. I encourage other posters who ordered to notify their bank/credit card companies to give them the head's up, too. I would feel devastated if my transaction was rejected and my order canceled because of that. And i'm sure others would feel the same. So be proactive!
