  7. Well It wasnt found in circulation. A family member had a jar of "old pennies" that they didn't think were worth anything. They let me sift through them and got the VDB. I also got the 1913 dime that's my avatar from the same jar.

I think this is in the wrong forum section Jello. It should be in modern coins. I don't consider my Lincolns bullion. LOL

I know that a product called "MS70" (Can someone verify this is the right product) is used to clean coins. And I guess shortly after everyone started using the product, some of their coins started turning blue. I have a 1916 that is totally one color. And the consensus on that one was that it had spent some time in that cleaner.

Looks like MS70 or Blue Ribbon or something like that.

Mike, did you send this one away for grading? I remember grading it a while back. If you did, what'd it come back as?

I didn't send it Shawn. I found black spots on it and didn't want to chance a $50 coin being body bagged for spots

The lincoln # 68610 is BN?? right side bottom coin. That is quite an interesting, no, that is a super cool variety of the same grade. would love to see em up close

On the other hand, wasn't it possibly very expensive because it was such a high grade and variety?
Anyway, I see your point. I was just curious if I had missed the thread when it came back.

Yeah, there can be a wide variety of colors and still be considered a BN coin. Some will be just shy of being RB, some will be dark brown, some will be purple and some will be a mix of all of the above. That one (14168610) is definitely closest to RB of the bunch though. And you're in luck because that one was imaged by PCGS TrueView service so you can get a very nice look:

Oh wow.... I thought I was in love with collecting Lincolns.. wowie zowie!!!! That is over the top for a relatively common coin. That is an amazingly great photo, they are exactly like the ones on coinfacts, that photo is so good I am surprised it went 65. lol!! I am very impressed and I am jaded!

But wait!! Between certification and that photo service I hope the coin was free. Is it acceptable to ask what shipping, cert and photo cost you? I don't think I'll ever send in a coin, except for maybe for one AU+14d - its the only one I think is valuable enough to slab. I hate seeing them in a slab even though I do have bunches of those blue boxes filled with slabs that I never look at. Seems to defeat the purpose. I digress sorry....
