From the same roll as the 1909 Woodie. Considering all the severe toning I'm still not sure if it's a VDB or not. Third picture is from the area where VDB is or would be. It does have some markings like a VDB was there. Also has some sort of problem around the M in UNUM and it is thicker then a business strike 1909 and has sharp rim edges like a Matte Proof.
I think the TrueView service is at least $20 these days so yes, I agree that it wouldn't have been too cost-effective to have sent that one in for grading, pay shipping both ways and then pay for TrueView on top of that! I got the coin off eBay awhile back though so I didn't pay any of that. The MS65BN VDBs cost be between $50 and maybe $85 each and I bought a few off eBay, a couple from other collectors and the others from dealers at shows.
