    Silver is my favorite metal.

  4. I guess it depends on the purpose (i.e., investment, coinage, jewelry, etc.), but will have to go with gold. TC

I voted for gold, I think it's because it's the only metal that has not ever "burned me" (except for Rhodium but I have never owned any). I got screwed a few years ago on silver futures. I bought some platinum and palladium maples and it's taken a while for the premium to get worked off on by the market. I think silver is probably the most undervalued. I bought some ASE's a while back but I won't buy any more silver, not as long as I can pull it from circulation for face value.

Silver is the common man's precious metal and historically was the primary basis of US coinage. I love silver for that!

Iridium is a pretty cool metal (though not for investment). It won't dissolve even in aqua regia and it takes an electron beam furnace to melt it.

that is a tough one for me, between gold and silver!

i like gold because i find the history behind the gold rush and the early settlers mining gold and taking it back to Europe interesting.

i have always loved silver jewelry and the silver american coins. the walker is my favorite coin of all.

as for bullion and overall, i am going to say silver. because i will probably always be able to afford more of it. unless silver jumps gold, then that will be the day!!

gold is a close second though.

I love all of my children equally even though they have different personalities, strengths and weaknesses. The same goes for precious metals.

I'm going with Iron. I love cast iron cookware, and you can't beat all the uses of stainless steel :)

I like the look of platinum. That being said, I don't really invest it in.

I personally like silver due to can get small amounts of it a lot easier when you have a small budget.

Steel would be my choice. The market for it outperforms all other metals combined. Can't really hoard it too well unless you have a lot of land, but you asked.
