    I think I spoke to some of you about the Van Berckel commemoration in his hometown last year.
    A documentary film was made about the life of this famous European engraver. There's a version with English subtitles now that can be viewed via this link:

    The little angel's head has been the Brussels mintmark for a long time, and is still in use these days (now it is the mark of the Royal Mint of Belgium). Why an angel? The sign represents the archangel St. Michael who became the city's patron in the Middle Ages. Today it looks like this (see attached image) but in many cases the details can hardly be recognized.
