hey guys! I got some early birthday gifts. here is the paper money that was inside 5 $1 Philippine Peso 4 $10 Singapore (Dollar?) 4 $1 Singapore (Dollar?) 1 $1 Malaysia Satu Ringgit if anyone would like a close up of one of these bills I will do that.
I know right. Good sense of humor too! The person who gifted these to me was also curious if they were worth anything.
Nice "person" friend or relative! Okay, so the value of any banknote is just like coins (the better condition = higher value). The highest valued notes: the $10 from Singapore are P-3a & happen to be worth the most: about $15.00 - $20 each (in F-VF: depending on whether they're problem free or "damaged"). It appears as if some of the corners are missing (or folded) or that there are nicks (tears) on the top border of one? Any problem (like a tear, pinhole(s), stains, writing/ink) will significantly decrease this $15-$20 ballpark figure. The next most valuable note would be the Singapore $1.00 with the Lim Kim San (1st) signature which probably would fetch about $5 each (in Very Fine or VF condition). Now check out what the Malaysian 1 Ringgit note would be worth on Numista. Half the fun in collecting is discovering what you have! The circulated 1 pesos from the Philippines won't be worth a lot due to their worn condition (& these can be purchased for $4 each for UNC/pristine notes). Great gift & I hope you dig a bit deeper to learn what you got!
