Zaneman has informed us that he got a Vatican City coin when he was roaming around on his Romish Roman holiday. He has promised to post the photos. Aidan.
I flat out forgot! Thanks for reminding me. Unfortunately, once again, my fiance is asleep. If I remember, I'll be sure and check tommorrow and post pictures. You'll have to forgive my absent-mindedness, I tend to be a tad big forgetful at times. Particularly when I don't get much sleep because of school, which is nearly all the time : (.
Hello OK but you promised... If it is really a vatican euro coin, you're very lucky, as they're all taken out of circulation as soon as they're minted. Must be a kid robbing his's (her's) dad's collection to buy sweets. We're looking forward to seeing it. Cucumbor
I'm not even 100% sure that I didn't spend it, as I had no idea of it's rarity. I'll be updating in about 1-2 hours, so standby.
Well, I can't find the 50 euro cent from the Vatican (my fiance said she lost some coins behind her bed, so I'll check that at some point), but here are some pictures of what I can find.
I knew there were none amonst those. But I definitely had one while I was there. It said something like sete de vaticano. I can't remember for sure. I didn't think anything of it. It's either behind my Fiance's bed, or in a vending machine in the railway.
Behind her bed would be the best. Very expensive coke if really in the vending machine. A pity...I can imagine how mortified you are. Cucumbor
If it said "Città de Vaticano" and had Pope John Paul II on the country specific side, it was the type issued between 2002 and 2005. In 2005 there was also another set, with no papal effigy but a seal and the inscription "Sede Vacante". But, as others have written, the Vatican coins show up in sets only. So for some reason somebody must have cracked one. Christian
