What are your thoughts on this 1944 D Mercury Dime? Would this constitute full bands or not?

When the midsection of the middle band goes through you got it. This one’s got it.

I think it’s “close, but no cigar”. Clear close-ups of all 3 horizontal bands would need to be provided for a better assessment.

Also, regarding Full Bands attribution, I have read that the various TPGs scrutinize not only the horizontal split-bands but also the diagonal and vertical portions of the torch as well to determine if the “Full Bands” attribution can be awarded…imo…Spark

Need to have close-up Pics and if possible, needs to be examined in person. Just my opinion. (I'll send you the bill for work done).

I think a closeup of the bands is needed, if you can provide one. I really can't tell from this image.

CORRECTION: I should have said “fasces” (not torch). The torch criteria is similar for Roosevelt dimes…and it slipped out. It is correct to say the Winged Liberty (Mercury) reverse design comprises the fasces and axe along with olive branches. The meaning of fasces is “bundle” and was used to signify strength through unity.

Being one of my most favorite coins I had to clarify to fix my glaring mistake…Spark

It’s close but just misses. The bands are there but just not separated the way they should be.

Looks like no but would like to see closeup photos.

Higher resolution pictures with additional light sources / angles would help make a better decision for me.
Right now it's very close but not definitive.

Use your fingers and expand the image. The answer is an easy determination.

I looked at this last night at work on my phone and now home on the big monitors. I still want to see higher res with better lighting. Currently it's still a toss up. Light coming in from the left washes out the left of the fasces and the shadow on the other side wipes that side out as well.
The bands appear to be solid but weak with the horizontal separation line quite faint. It hints at a full separation but with the current images I can't give a full thumbs up.

The forum was down so I couldn't upload a clearer picture until now. What do you think?

I'm going to have to say no on this one as there's just a little flat, blended spot just to the right of center of the middle bands.
Having said that I am not an expert grader but I've seen one or two during the last 50 years or so and would lean toward one of the TPG probably nixing the FSB designation as well.

Good job on the updated photo. Now that it is clearer I say the middle band kills the FB attribution. A close, but no cigar designation comes into play here. Beautiful merc though.

Not enough separation on those middle bands to make FB in my opinion.

Yes, but barely. This is not my thing, but I’ve read selling copy with words like “fully rounded,” and the horizontal line on this coin is far from that.
