I'm browsing for some nice Ancients for my set, and this one really caught my eye:





How much would you value it at? What is your opinion on the coin? Do you like it, dislike it, etc? Please lmk what you think of the coin if you don't mind, thanks!!

I believe it is a coin of Constans II, I would say 50-60 bucks, its very nice with good detail though not my cup of tea.

Don't know anything about it, but it is pretty sweet looking. If you like it, go for it. I'm not sure of it's value though.

I looked up that reference, and the only one that sold on wildwinds went for $30, Yours is much nicer, so I'd say $50ish.

It's up to you..How bad do you want it? $70 is a hefty price to pay for a coin (in my book, anyways..lol). If I was looking for it, and had my heart set on it..then I'd pay $70...hope that helps.

No stamps..lol...and if you want some nice Gorgons...plan to add $25-30 to that $70 for the nicer ones.

The mintmark is different. Find the one referenced to Sabatier 1005

its Constans II not III...he was the SON of Constantine III I believe...might be where the mix-up is.

 

Here's the link where I can purchase it, however I think I might pass on it. I want to try to do a set of Gorgons maybe, I don't know for sure though. Man, why did they have to make awesome looking coins back then?? I'm honestly debating on giving up Lincolns for awhile to focus on ancients.

Lol, you're calling me names, you're the one that got me interested in these Ancient coins.

I'm still doing it, however I think I only need one or two coins to finish it, lol.

Yeah, true, Phoenix is a pretty short set..it would be cool to have a fellow Gorgon collector. Be careful though, because there are a lot of cast fakes for Gorgons..
