Fav, of late, is this.

 

In 2015 I entered a contest here on CoinTalk.. and I won!
I had the coin graded by NGC. It is definitely my favorite coin!

I've always loved gold coins....and that's a beauty!!

 

It's not my most expensive coin but I like it because it's part of my mother's birth year set.

 

This coin was a pocket piece first of the Grandfather and then the Father of my wife. It spent 60 years traversing the oceans as both were Norwegian merchant seamen and coin collectors. It traveled over 100,000 miles. It now resides in my pocket.

 

Very nice!! Unfortunately none of my Mercs look that good! I love it!!

 

Some of the best coins are the sentimental pieces that we hold dear to our heart. Exactly like yours! I have a few French coins in my collection that my Great Uncle brought back from France after WW1.

 

This SLQ is just 1 of the favorite coins...and I don't collect quarters!

Heck, anything I dang well found always (almost) had the date shaved off........

 

Not the most valuable, and not the first (or 2nd or 3rd) time showing it, but this one, even though it is labeled ‘details:cleaned’. I usually don’t mention that, and it gets many praises.

 

I am amazed a coin could sit at the bottom of the ocean for 150 years and come out like this.

 

Me too, but I did find most of the set in readable condition. Most are close to smooth.

 

It's gold. It could sit there an eon more with no ill effects......

 

Today, I'll pick this one as my favorite.
It has problems but it just smiled for the camera.

 

I have one I think is better, but it was found by a friend and I traded for it. The coin collecting kids in town held swap meets and traded back and forth. We would meet quite often. Here is one I traded for. It is hard to believe he had found a nicer one. But we worked hard and were very competitive. But, we made honest trades and not interested in pure profit.
