This week the Y. Notables dove into catalogs. How to look up bank notes and coins was the topic of the day. We talked about using resources to gather information. Starting with: "What do we know?". The students could volunteer to look up a note or coin. If they were successful they were awarded a bonus payment of the note or coin they looked up. While this lead to some frustration at times, it was all worth to watch them help each other with the process. Thanks again to all who have donated! (The first 5 class updates are found in the Bob Connor Memorial Thread)
Thanks for the update Frank. Do the students also try to determine condition or grade ? Where do you store the sample coins & currency between classes ?
We try to master circulated vs. uncirculated. They practice the other grades but results vary!! The teaching materials of any monetary value are stored in the school safe between classes.
