What are some of the unusual things you've seen or heard about people collecting? The normal things like cigarette lighters, movie posters, comics etc. are all regular things, but why in the world would anybody collect rubber stamps? (you know when you have a rubber stamp made that has a statement like Paid, 2nd notice, fax etc.)
Knew a guy in Taiwan that collected batteries. You know - like the kind you put in a flashlight. Had a collection from all over the world.
I collect musical instruments (mostly trombones, but plenty of other instruments as well). Other than that, I'm normal. (relatively speaking )
Diapers. My friend lets another friend use his Ebay account to bid on diapers. Who would have thought a package of vintage 1994's could sell for 125 dollars?! Thats a better investment than gold! Go figure. Guy~
You collect... WHAT? ((Caution, this might be too difficult or unpleasant for some to read. Do be careful, as I certainly do not want this statement to offend anyone)) Okay, okay, you got me now! You are about to learn a very special secret that you dare not tell anyone else about... yep, you are going to be shocked and surprised and some of you will probably drop me from your 'friends' list... Well, IF I really have to tell... this isn't going to be easy... I mean, this as been my special :secret:since before I began coin collecting.. I, er... er... well, I collect pieces of banknotes that have been torn or lost from the same. No, I will not tear them myself, but if I see one I pick it up and put it in a little pouch in my currency album. There, so you know what my real passion is. jeankay Then there are the little circuit boards I take out of defunct calculators and cell phones, etc.,... there is something about them that I find fascinating.:computer: Oh, I also remove the copper wire from things like leftover pieces of wiring and little magnetic motors and old extension cords which have lost their integrity, and other items that have copper wire in them. You would be surprised where it shows up. Okay, I guess that is enough revelations for one day. Unfortunately, I am prone to collect a lot of stuff, including useful things. BY THE WAY... EVERYONE HAVE A SAFE AND WONDERFUL 4TH!!!!!!!!!!!:hail: :eat: :thumb:
Books, sports cards & baseballs & bats, NASCAR Diecast, etc... (if some of the older mbrs have seen these pics before, sorry)
Swords, Lincoln Cents, Used to collect rocks, Lincoln Cents, different books, Lincoln Cents... and the list goes on... Phoenix
I've read about someone that collected old bricks and another that collected old barb wire. A friend of mine collects paper weights and I collect silver strikes from different casinos I've been to. But I must say jeankay your collection is the most unique of them all. :smile Lou
My buddys hotsauce collection in Florida. He needs help, lol. He has about 25 of my brands, including several label prototypes that I never released, and even asks for " autographed" bottles, lol. Clembo, and you thought my buddy in Los Angeles was a nut, huh !!
My greatest interest has always been space exploration (the real stuff...not the sci fi stuff). Anyway, several years ago I built a website that displays my collection of astronaut/cosmonaut autographs. It hasn't been updated in quite some time...but here it is: http://www.geocities.com/richieb31619/index.html
Whoa! Green18... you've been snooping in MY closet? How did you know I keep everything I don't want the public to know about in my closet? Now, if you had gone into the garage you would see all my big bins and boxes full of Batman memorabilia... almost too many to count. Hang around the house and you will eventually find my small collection of miniature saddles, my hummingbird figurines, the pressed aluminum mechanical music boxes, the metal horses we use to win at the county fair, my other mechanical music boxes that are quite unique, my crystal collection being mostly Swavorski and Czech and Austrian. And last, but not least my old vinyl record albums... we have about 3,000 total between myself and my hubby. If you hang around long enough I will play my huge collection of Slim Whitman albums. (that usually gets people heading for the exits)... P.S. I think Bonedigger has WAY TOO MUCH STUFF!!!
WOW JACK! Your friend sure does have an impressive collection of hot sauce. Has he actually tried all these brands? So... that is something I didn't know about you... hot sauce maker... hmmmm... Do you sell it on the internet? Don't you think Bonedigger has way too much stuff? jeankay
