Tell us your best or worst fake currency story. Here is mine, A few years back when I was taking my first steps as being a coin dealer I had put some adverts in the paper and I got a call from a man who said he had some old US dollars from his grandfather. I asked the typical questions - years, types ect ( saying he had a few ). We agreed to meet at his house that was about a two hour drive " I was much more enthusiastic then" and when I came in to his house there were about 300 fake silver dollars on a table. I took one up and told him that these were fakes and for the life of him he did not belive me. Called me a fool and they looked quite real to him. After I explained to him as much as I could I saw a piece that had a thin layer of silver loose. So I took it up and peeleed half of the coin off and the look on his face was amazing. That spil second he said to him self "well self s*****". Not his grandfathers but bought in Thailand days before - had seen one sell for loads on the internet as he said it.
