You’ve Never Seen A Buffalo Nickel Like This

I certainly never have and I doubt anyone on CT has either. I would be if they have. You can see it’s extra think and copper on one side, the side that covers the obverse design of a Buffalo Nickel.
The first photo shows the reverse. At least it’s not a 3 legged variety. The second and third photos shows the thickness. The more I enlarged it the blurrier it became but it shows the 3 layers. The last photo also shows the 3 layers on this coin.
It’s the Buffalo Nickel, another layer of a metal and the copper layer. I think the middle layer is hollowed out with copper layer over it. The copper is plastic, not metal. If I hold this with my index finger and thumb and press the copper side in towards the coin, it clicks. Yes, it makes a click noise. I’ve never seen anything like this except in toy clickers. I think it a riot and I can’t believe someone came up with this idea and built it.
Do I have a million dollar coin if I put it on the bay? Lol

Looks like a jewelry bezel, but I suppose you’ve already ruled that out.

Not a jewelry bezel. The nickel is the exact size of this Buffalo coin and no signs of any bezel marks.

Truly an oddity, like you, I'm at a loss why it was created! :shame:
