    Hi all,
How do you photograph a proof set? The plastic case is SO reflective it just washes out parts of the photo. I can take pictures of the individual coins without a problem, a photo of the entire set is where I'm stuck.
    Thanks in advance!

This is just a guess because my photographic skills are nowhere near as good as some others, but I would think that you would have to change the angle of the lighting. When you are taking a photo of an individual coin in the Mint case, the camera is a little closer to the subject so the angle of the light is reflected away from the camera lens. But when you have to move the camera further away from the subject to take a photo of the entire case using the same placement of the light source, some of the light can reflect into the lens. Try setting the light source at a shallower angle and add additional light sources if needed.

I was trying to use daylight. I will try what you suggest later this afternoon.
    Thanks Chris!

If your camera takes filters, try using a polarizer. It's adjustable and you should be able to eliminate a lot of the reflection.
