Every now and then someone here on Coin Talk will recommend the site www.SmallDollars.com for information about United States small-sized dollar coins.

I would encourage anyone who has any interest in small-sized dollar coins to check out the website. It is an incredible resource for information about the SBA, Sacagawea, and Presidential dollar coins. The information on the site has been gathered over the course of the past 25 years, and some of it simply can not be found anywhere else. The site is regularly used as a reference tool not only by individual collectors but also by companies such as PCGS, NGC, and ICG.

It is worth mentioning that www.SmallDollars.com is not a commercial site. There is nothing for sale, and there are no banner ads or annoying pop-ups. It is strictly for educational purposes with no strings attached.

I have recently had the good fortune to be able to collaborate with the owner of the site in promoting it through the production of counterstamped coins. Several years ago the site's owner had a counterstamp made and I have been temporarily entrusted with the stamp.

In order to help promote www.SmallDollars.com here at Coin Talk, I am giving away a limited number of nickels stamped with the site's address. These were created especially for Coin Talk members. The rules are very simple: they are available on a first come, first served basis; there is a limit of one coin per person; and they are only available to members who were registered on Coin Talk prior to November 2007. Non-US members are welcome to participate, and I will hold a couple coins in reserve for them since they may not get a chance see this thread until a day later due to the time difference.

All you need to do to get one of these counterstamped nickels is send me your name and address by Private Message. Once the supply is gone I will post a message here advising that no more are available. (Please be assured that your address will not be used for any purpose other than mailing the coin - all PMs will be deleted from my folder as soon as the coins have all been sent.)

Once the nickels have all been spoken for, two of the lucky recipients will be randomly selected and each will receive a limited-edition ICG sample slab containing a Presidential dollar. The site’s owner had these specially made to promote www.SmallDollars.com and he has generously offered to provide two of them for this giveaway on Coin Talk.

Here is what the nickles look like:

A number of Coin Talk members have already requested their free counterstamped nickel, but there are still some left.

There was a limited edition of 50 coins made exclusively for this giveaway. This nickel is already listed on the website www.SmallDollars.com as one of the special edition counterstamped coins that were issued to promote the website.

And remember – as soon as the nickels are all spoken for, there will be a drawing to see which two collectors will receive a free www.SmallDollars.com sample slab (these can also be viewed on the website).

I just wanted to let people know that I will be doing the drawing for the sample slabs (as mentioned above) on Saturday night (11/24/07).

There is still time to claim your free counterstamped nickel and get in the drawing for a free slabbed Presidential dollar.

I am now opening the contest to any registered Coin Talk user, so if you have been checking out the site but never felt there was a reason to register, here is your reason!

Good luck to all who have already responded!

Mine got here today too. Very cool. Put it up in my collection box, and in about 50 years I'll probably wonder where it came from. :D Lol, thanks JBK.

Thanks to everyone who participated. I have held the drawing and the two lucky winners of the ICG sample slabs promoting www.SmallDollars.com are.......................

    9roswell and monkeyman

Their slabbed dollars will be in the mail tomorrow.

All of the nicklels that were requested have been sent out, and those that have not been received should be arriving in the next day or two. And, as promised, I have deleted all the PMs so that your privacy is maintained - the addresses were not retained or used for any purpose other than this giveaway.

Thanks again for the participation and support. Be sure to bookmark www.SmallDollars.com and visit occassionally to see what is new in the world of small-sized U.S. dollars.
