I don't like ebay much for buying coins, just my personal thought.

What are these people thinking when they sell "unopened rolls"?

Would be smarter to open the roll if you actually have a truly unopened roll, also, it would be smarter not to buy a supposedly "unopened roll"

If I had that roll, I would have opened it. How could any one be stupid enough to buy that roll? What a sucker. $174.00

Seems that people are missing the point here Jack. May I?

Most likely he rolled these himself and then put the VDB tail and 1910 on the other end. Chances of getting an SVDB therefore become less than zero. Probably a bunch of 40s and 50s in there. All that for only $174.

Screw the stats in the auction. Those are the REAL stats.

if the person worked at a bank they could easily roll it. i can't believe someone paid 174.00 bucks for it

if you look at the 1910 side, you can tell its been 'tucked' back in..so the roll was opened. I have done this on these rolls, its not hard to do

    Actually,
I saw this as another fraud auction that people fall for and bid huge bucks. Those rolling machines are available for under $1000. My point was, hey, I can " stack the deck also" and sell my wheat rolls for $150 each just by sticking a good one on the ends or even tail/tail " mystery " roll.
Unbelievable. Sad , but true, there are really stoopid, and really crooked people out there.

Actually, there's a company that sells a plastic piece that can be used to hand roll the ends of the shotgun type rolls for an amazing $2.95. Sounds like this guy can not only buy several more of the hand crimpers, but also higher a $5/hr kid to start rolling more rolls.

I use the hand crimpers you're referring to all the time, and although it looks great, it definitely doesn't look machine rolled on the hand-crimped side.

I may be wrong, but I don't believe they rolled coins like that when wheats were being made. I think that style came about in the 60's or maybe even 70's.

If I was a scammer, I would put a nice vdb for a tails and a 1909 s for the heads. But I'm not a scammer.

Hey I grew up collecting the mid 60'S and the rolls did not look like that.

Back then it was just folded at the end by the bank employee, after they came out of the coin counter.

I hate e-bay:mad::eek: because they let this crap go on.
