And you thought you had seen it all. Well think again! This seller is simply pathetic and makes me feel sorry for him. Sells coins, charges ridiculous amounts on shipping, gets negatives and calls the bidders/buyers names etc....Feedback speaks for its self. I have personally reported his listing and recommend others here to do the same to get them removed. The seller is obviously hoping for unsuspecting bids from those who don't read but in the long run, he is not going to last very long. http://cgi.ebay.com/MEXICAN-COIN-YEAR-1797-RARE-FIND-LOW-PRICE-/110551164867?cmd=ViewItem&a mp;pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19bd5ce7c3
He puts it on at $.01 so the final value fees are basically nothing, so he is just disregarding eBay's procedures, which should be reported. :thumb:
$99.99 for shipping. I do believe that's against ebay rules. That's about half the cost for them to fly the specimen down to hand over personally... I just reported the seller via a link method at another venue I belong to. It seems the few times that I have reported such auctions to ebay, and have used that link method, response time is very quick. Here's another specimen that he wants $149.99 for shipping... http://cgi.ebay.com/RUSSIAN-COIN-YE...tem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19bd5ce775 I reported this one too.
Here's some of their feedback: http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=great.online.bargains&iid=-1&de=off&items=200&which=negative&interval=365 The best two were: "650 USD to ship a single coin? ha ha ha whatta loser!" "tried to charge a hundred grand for shipping lol then got childish..."
Don't forget to include this one http://cgi.ebay.com/RUSSIAN-COIN-YE...tem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19bd5ce775. He only want $149.99 shipping for it. My guess is they will get pulled, but note that they are in Canada and I am not familiar with the Canadian eBay rules. They are definitely different than the US rules.
Very true but as long as collectors (we) do our job to protect unsuspecting and newbies to the hobby and report them, I'm sure ebay will pull them.
Here is the same coin he listed previously and had one bid, the shipping was $600.00! So it looks like he relisted maybe same coin, and lowered the shipping cost. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110536304458
You are preaching to the choir about reporting such things. If you go back and check, I think you will find my batting average is pretty good at getting things removed. What you don't see is that my average has not been very good at getting Canadian items removed.
What is your other method you were talking about to remove such listings faster? I would like to know. I'll be smacking all this AT coin sellers LOL....
This is ridiculous. I clicked on the link before I read the initial post, then I came back to see what the problem is, then I went back to the link and was like OH. On the same coin he tried to charge $99,000,000 for shipping. Is he an idiot? Does he really think somebody, even if they win would ever pay him! Either he is thinking that he is clever, or he is a complete idiot.
He must be related to this woman who sold "pictures" or cell phones to people who thought they were buying cell phones. What a maroon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuP1pXSvNJI
I have reported that item as well. That is just a plain example of what not to do on eBay. Very bad seller.
Being that this seller is relatively " new" as far as how many transactions he has made you might see them pull some of his listings for breaking the rules. But DO NOT be surprised if this seller stays around a long time, or just changes his name but not his game. The bay is NOTORIOUS for not taking action against less scrupulous "merchants" who do HIGH VOLUME sales. Take for example the seller numismaticbureau. This seller rips off noobs to the hobby by the hundreds yet since they do SO MUCH business on ebay, they refuse to take any action. Many sellers just keep changing their names and opening new accounts when their feedback gets too ridiculous for even dummies to fall prey. It all comes down to the almighty dollar. If you browse the bay for long enough you can spot sellers who have more than one account, or have changed their name simply by the way they list their "goods". For those of you who do not have that kind of experience, there is toolhaus.org. Unless you want to learn some potentially expensive lessons, please know what you are doing BEFORE you bid.
