I bought some rolls of liberty nickels from a local auction. Someone searched those puppies high and low (nothing before 1899) but they missed one!! I paid about 20 cents lol

The mintmark is located along the rim at about 7:30 on the reverse.

    Leadfoot there is no spoon

If real (my coincern would be an added mintmark), that's an amazing find!

Gotta love when that happens. I think, because that would not happen to me.

There is a possibility that it does have an added mintmark. As you can see, there seems to be a problem around the rim near the S. Can you post a closeup picture of the edge near the S?

The mm does seem to be tilted to the right just a bit.

There is the same degree of toning in the protected areas around the mintmark as the other high points of the coin and the S is consistent with others in the series. An added mint mark is never out of the question but if this coin has one it was done by a true artist.
