Not really, it was all an illusion. I thought I would share my experience tonight: I noticed a dime in my change that had an interesting tone to it. My eyes, not being what they use to be, I picked up my 10X jeweler's loupe checked it out. The cool toning was copper that was pushing though due to wear. What really caught my eye was the "8" on the reverse side. It was screaming at me. I wanted to take a pic for this forum to get advice and comments. When I took the first photo with my cell phone I used the flash and the "8" became a smooshed "B". I was curious and shot the photo without the flash, and I got the the same image that I saw using my loupe, a strong numeral "8". (Try viewing the image below by clicking Cntl + + + to enlarge. The 8 screams at you ) It is interesting how different lighting can reveal errors in perception... ahh, the thrill of the journey.
