I just find this coin in Iranian western. All I know is that, this is a Parthia coin. but I can't find that on parthia.com, or maybe I'm wrong and this is not a Parthia coin?! Would you please help me know about the history of this coin! And just one another thing, I have two of them.
And I can read these letters on top of the coins: [Β]ΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ, "B" is not readable. I don't have any idea about what do they mean, but I find these letters on the coins attributed to Mithradates II, which you can see them here.
I haven't done a lot with Parthian coins, but I have never seen one with that particular bust. It is done roughly in the style of the later centuries of the empire (Mithradates IV, Vologases III, etc). It is rather crudely made, more so than the examples I have seen.
I found this Greek inscriptions table in parthia.com, I think I should try to read the backside of the coins, although they are very hard to read.
I suggest you post this coin for identification at the following site: http://www.forumancientcoins.com/ They will most certainly be able to tell you what you've got.
A website about Parthia and it's coins is http://www.parthia.com The coin could be Osroes I (AD 109-129) http://www.parthia.com/osroes1.htm The portrait looks right but the Greek legend doesn't look exactly the same
Do you have any idea about the value of these coins? or is there anybody here that wants to have these coins?
They are worth 80-160 dollars each at the moment. I've already got a copper coin of Orodes, so if that proves to be him, I'm not interested in buying them.
