Honestly if you have to ask a forum if you should be cracking something to resubmit you absolutely shouldn't be doing it as it will almost certainly be a big waste of money
honestly that has nothing to do with why I am doing these posts I was curious about how people felt about a coin I was considering buying but wanted to know if others Thought Was accurate. After I did that almost every single person responded that the grade was higher than the one on the label. I was interesting In what people would say if I ask they should crack it out and almost everybody said no because it wasn’t going to upgrade. I thought it was interesting that everybody thought that the coin was higher graded yet everybody on the other thread thought that the coin should stay in the holder. So I thought hey let’s try this out and I pulled a few coins out of my collection and wanted to see if the grade guess would be high again and if the crackout. advice would be no again and so I’ve done this a few times and each thread almost every estimate is high and almost every response is don’t crack. I thought of it like a sort of a psych experiment. I’m not cracking any of these points out I bought to hold but I thought it was super interesting psychologically how the guesses are high yet the advice was don’t crack and take the risk. Interesting to think about what it reveals about the psychology of the board. I was hoping to do a whole thread on this and I probably will but I got called out sooner than I wanted but someone was bound to question me sooner or later
Yea if you're doing it just for that by all means go ahead. I think you proved the validity overall with the background. I'll even say sorry for ruining the experiment. I dont like when people say do this and have seen it to many times on forums that really hurt the person doing it which is why I said that.
Interesting experiment, but for what end. Just members opinions? Personally, if that were my coin and I questioned the grade, I'd submit it to CAC and see what they gave it. While I don't buy CAC coins, or send anything to them, I think they give coins a closer look with a critical eye than the TPG, and therefore if it got a gold bean, it deserves the higher grade.
