I have this 1942 Walking Liberty half, I don't think it has been cleaned. Does have some toning on top of obverse between the E and R . Would it be worth it to send out for grading?

It would need to be in the MS-66 range to really worth the cost. It could be, but the reverse image is a bit too blurry to accurately grade it and it has a decent hit on the obverse. I'd say leave it free and raw.

Over all I agree.... but can you see well enough to tell what the obverse "anomaly" is that extends from the L in a northerly direction? It could be a killer, or perhaps not; I can't quite tell what it is.

yes, probably should leave it raw, here is clearer picture of reverse and closer on toning on obverse. There is a little bubble from flip between the B and E. Just noticed the line between L and I not sure what it is, need to pop it out of flip. Definitely scratched, thanks for pointing it out. Would probable bring grade down to not worth the cost.

If it's what I'm thinking, it rightfully should detail, unfortunately.

    Are you thinking machine damage?

Leave it raw. Not worth the costs to grade.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

That is what I am thinking. I'd grade it UNC Details, Damaged.

I hate to give an absolute, but yes.... and in particular, the damage to the "I" suggests as much.

Looks like counting machine damage. Pity.
