That's an amazing one. Price range for these varies depending on the magnitude of the error. And this one's rather prominent. @SteveInTampa
I think I will just get it graded at PCGS and keep it as a cool oddity. I only paid $40 bucks for it.
That error is called a gutter fold. And it is a major one! It has a few wrinkles and bends that will affect the price, but since it has an extra wide margin and some of another note on it, it is unique. A GREAT find. I would definitely get it graded, and although there is no doubt it’s attribute, I would also ask for that.
Nice Gutter Fold error. It looks like it happened after the first print and before the second print. It affects a portion of the framed portrait and the upper-right serial number as well as the final cutting. I’d get it into a quality currency sleeve before it gets any more handling marks.
Really a nice find congratulations, thanks for posting it. Would like to see the grading follow up. Good luck and be safe.
I think it was a steal at that price. Remembering that errors are worth what someone is willing to pay, I'd bet that would go for well over a $100, and maybe more, in an auction. Please post again when you have it graded.
