Would anyone like to grade my 1931-S Lincoln?

Hey all...just curious what you guys would grade this as. There is a small cut on the right wheat ear on the reverse, and the coin appears to have a slightly pinkish color that might not come across with the photos.

    Appreciate your help!

although it is nearly impossible to grade coins from 2 photos on the internet, i will offer this opinion:

your coin exhibits excellent detail, and unless those lines I see on both the obverse and the reverse are die polish lines, I would say that the coin was at one time harshly cleaned. The ding in the right wheat ear doesn't help it's overall appeal, either.

I would give it a net grade of AU-50, cleaned - MS details.

    Forgot to include this:

Hey, just wanted to say that I realized the difficulties of grading a coin via Internet digital photography, and I meant to include something about that in my previous post.

Thanks for all your help, taking these things into account.

    Cheers,

The coin has been harshly cleaned, see the hairlines? You describe color wise a coin that has been dipped. This would be called damaged and collectible only as a filler, and the value has been severly compromised.

Thanks everyone for the input. I have indeed had my doubts about the coin (I work for store credit at a local place, and after anticipating this coin for months...yeah.)

I told them I'd take it home to look at it more thoroughly, and I'm going to give them a call tomorrow to see if I can exchange it for a more normal looking XF example.

BTW, it shows no evidence of being a fake, but the color, some minor abrasions, and the scraches on the reverse just kind of ruin my enjoyment of it.

    Thanks!

    Just a quick update:

Took the coin back to shop, exchanged it for a nice, undamaged and uncleaned XF version and with the difference in value got a nice VF 1924-D as well.

I think I'm much happier with Situation #2.

I agree you did OK with that trade. Nice to know a coin shop is willing to do that. So many are real stinkers about returns.
