The bottom note was cut from an uncut sheet so no error there, the middle one just has poor margins and the top one is the closest thing you've got to an error but since the design is intact I suspect that most collectors wouldn't really consider it to be an error but it is very close.
I Was out spending these note. One lady i was paying was using one of those markers to make sure the notes are real and the note that I posted on the bottom she said was fake. How accurate are those markers and are there any other ways to be sure this note is actually fake?
That last note is indeed a sheet note and doubtful a fake in any way.. I don't know how good some of those markers work. Are the red and blue fibers embeded in the note that you can see?
I do see blue fibers. i have attached the note now with the marker mark on it along with another one i had her check. I had her check all the notes i had let just to see. She said based of the marker markings that the one on top is fake and the one on the bottom is real. I hope you can see there is a yellow line across the note on the bottom.
I see the marker line thru the note.. guess it is hard telling with the scans but it just doesn't seem worth the effort faking a 2 for what ever reason.. where did you get the bills to start with?
I got them from one of my usual banks i go to for straps and rolls. Makes me wonder if any of the orher 2's i already spent were like that one. Why would any one cut an uncut sheet?
Needed smokes or whatever. Stolen and cut up. The rest of the sheet may have been damaged..... Some unethical ebay seller's cut up notes to sell as errors.
I would just hang onto it.. I don't know that it is fake or not.. if it were "fake" I would have thought the person that called it such would be required to keep it, though I don't know what the law is..
That isn't true at all. The person who called it fake has the right to not touch it. The rule is; it's in your hands, you loose. All you can do is turn it into the bank, but they won't replace it, so if it is fake you'd be better off just keeping it for fun. Money is no joke.
Those markers are the LEAST reliable way to determine if a note is fake or real. I've seen them fooled both ways, legitimate currency would turn black and counterfeit would turn gold. Your deuce is not fake, it's genuine, just cut from a BEP uncut sheet by someone that needed some quick money.
+1. Or someone who stole the uncut sheet from someone else and didn't realize the collectors significance, lol.
