    Its all damage

You have to remember that any and all coins found in circulation are subject to an unlimited amount of potential abuse of all forms.

Including what appears to be pink nail polish.

it didn’t look like circulation damage to me. Maybe a few marks. The entire coin is messed up. The pink is marker. It wipes off. Letting my 6 and7 yr old grandsons look and mark what they see as I learn. I will post some others if I can get better pics. Should I clean the coins with Wd40 or something. Didn’t just in case. Thanks

Coins with any numismatic value can be easily damaged if cleaned improperly. It wouldn't hurt this one any though!

    • Most of the members in coins for a long time, knows the processes that can create errors in a possible coin during the coining process. Once the coin is struck, any change/damage to it is considered Post Mint Damage. Even if they drop a sack on the floor and it is run over by a forklift or cart, it is PMD, even if that happened in the mint room. The money coins are from mistakes that occur in the process before the strike of the coin event. Welcome,Jim

    Really?

Your Quarter is DEFDAM - Definitely Damaged :yack:

Suggestion. There is a Error Coins forum here on CoinTalk. Any future questions you should ask there first. Find out what you have. Learn the difference with our answers then worry about any premium.
