My wife's sister traded me this yesterday for a regular newer $50. I'm not sure if it's worth anything over face or I should just spend it as it's got some pinholes, fold tear, wear, etc and I don't know enough about paper money to determine for myself. I used http://www.mycurrencycollection.com/reference/star-notes/lookup and it seems middle of the road as seen in screen cap below.

Personally, I'd keep it, if I had the $50 to spare. At the very least, you'll have squirreled away fifty bucks.

I put that up on the bay, with those last 3 numbers you may hit the jack pot.

That's what I'd do because someday you'll go through your stuff and find a $50 you need! Win, win! :D

I'd probably hang on to it if you could afford to do so. It's a neat example of an old style $50, it's a star note and it's from a fairly small run. It's a bit rough...but if it were me, I'd hang on to it.

If you ever really need it, you could always spend it later.

I'd keep it, since you've only got $50 into it.

If you collect from circulation, this is a great find....a keeper.
If you are a $50 star note collector, you would probably pass, even as a hole filler.

Respectfully, when I opened the thread and saw the note, my eyes were first drawn to the missing corner and tear starting at the center top. Personally I would spend it or offer it at face to a collector that wanted it.

Keep it , the note is from 60's , somewhat rare star ... onething I noticed but I'm not sure ... is the lower left serial * , filled with ink ?? You see the normal star is hallow , it appears to me one of the two stars is a solid star ... if that's ture then add 200 dollars or so to the value ... that's an error, but I cannot be sure from the pic

I'm not sure what you are seeing, but BOTH stars look hollow to me.
