Worth Grading?

I recently acquired a bunch of coins/tokens in trade and am wondering if these two Flying Eagles are worth sending in. I know the pics are terrible but here's my thoughts on them-
    1. The first 57 is damaged and I am not sure a TPG would even give it a number or if it would just be detailed.
    2. I have posted the 2nd 57 on here before and have been told and I agree that it's been cleaned. Would it still be worth it to send it in hopes of getting an AU details grade?

I just don't know all the "in's and out's" with grading possibly damaged or cleaned coins.

On a side note I also have a bunch of Civil War and Hard Times tokens if anyone is an expert on here and would like to assist.

    Thanks!

I personally would not send in either of those 2 coins in for grading if you are expecting them both to come back with details grades. The benefits of having them slabbed would not be worth the price of the grading. My opinion would be different if the coins in question were rare dates; in which case, having the coins authenticated by a TPG may be worth the cost.

I cannot tell how original the second coin is, so I'll assume it is totally original, and recommend you submit that one. If you have reason to doubt its originality, save yourself the money.

I would not submit the first, as it does not look gradeable to me.

Ok, but would the first one get a details grade because of the damage or would NGC give it a number?

first one would get a details grade most likely ef- details !!!

I also think the first coin would get a XF details grade from NGC.

Can you get clearer pictures of the second coin?

If the images on my monitor are accurate then you would be throwing your money away needlessly if you sent either of those coins in for grading.

If the color is accurate , then I wouldn't send them in as they'd receive detail grades as the others said . IMHO it's better to pay a little more for a non problem coin , in the end you will be happy you did .

I do agree with most that has been said. Also, I didn't pay a cent for these coins so I think I'm ahead either way! :)

I can't see putting any money into the coins. To me it would be a waste. I could see it if the coins had some special meaning.

I would not submit the first one as it is not gradable. I cannot really tell on the second one as the pictures are too blurry. It does look to be in pretty good shape though.

I agree about the shape , but it sure looks cleaned and I never seen cleaned copper look right again .

It very well might be. All I can really make out is the details appear to be there...it's so blurry I was afraid to comment on the surfaces. But, I do agree they look "off."

I do see quite a few hairlines...especially on the obverse. I suspect it has been cleaned.
