    Hi,

I just started with the whole coin collecting and when I went to cash in my change I told the tellers I wanted $100s. When I inspected the bills I noticed I had a star note and some consecutiee serial numbers. I would like to know if these bills are worth anything more than face value. Any help would be greatly appericated.

    Thanks in advance.

I would say no. The star note is from a run of over 6 million and in that condition wouldn't really have any value over face. The new notes are worth face as well. They are not uncirculated and these bills are issued in 100 note bundles with consecutive serial numbers. So, spenders IMHO.

Unless $100 bills are something really special, it can be hard to find one with a premium because so much is already soaked into the face value.

    Camaro,

Thank you for the your insight. What you said makes sense. If I had a serial number of all the same numbers or something that would make it more valuable.

    Thank you

Yes, there are different types of serial number combinations that do increase the value. These are often called "fancy serial numbers." Even on brand new notes, they do bring a premium. Depending on the type...and the buyer is what determines the value. Here are some examples:
