@Jasanche First, welcome to the neighborhood, John! I think it is a medal since there doesn't appear to be a denomination on it. Maybe someone will come along who knows something about it. In the future, it would help if you cropped out the extraneous background first, resize the image next and then use the "Full Image" option when posting your photos. The "Thumbnail" option, here, sucks! Chris
Looks like just a commemorative medal/token. The words PAT PEN on the coin would not be used on a item that would be minted at usual world mints used for circulating coins including commemorative issues.
A medal that commemorates the Ninth Football World Cup in Mexico, as the side with the flags says. In two of those flags, roughly at the two and seven o'clock positions, there are "elements" that could be parts of the flags or maybe some info about the producer or engraver. Dunno, can't read it. The other side shows that the medal was made after the event, as it shows Brazil as the world champion ... Christian
Thank you, @cpm9ball, @paddyman98, and @chrisild for your info and suggestions. This post was done using my phone, so it was somewhat cumbersome to navigate through the upload options. I'll be sure to use my computer next time and crop the photos. I guess my biggest questions were about the origin of this medal: I am trying to figure out if it was issued by a mint/company/whatever in Mexico, Spain, or even Brazil. It is supposed to be silver, but i dont know...
