Good to see CT back at last! Well done for anyone involved in fixing the issue. Only one new acquisition for me during the absence - this 1686 GB Half Crown to fill a gap in my own collection:
Picked this up today at the WFOM in Chicago. It's upgrade as I already had a far inferior one. Germany, Brunswick‑Wolfenbüttel, Heinrich Julius (1589‑1613), silver Lügentaler, 1596, the so-called ‘Lies and Falsehood’ Taler, Goslar, 28.84g (Dav. 9089; Welt. 628). Good Very Fine for the issue. This piece belongs to the series of so‑called emblematic Talers, which refer to the disputes between the Duke and some noble families. The Duke is symbolized by a lion crowned by an angel. The lion is attacking an ibex (Steinberg family) next to a flower (Saldern family).
